Mr. E.G. Valk

Etienne Valk is a PhD researcher focusing on copyright, fundamental rights and generative AI in the context of digital libraries and archives. At IViR, he has been involved in studies on the music (streaming) sector and the Mobifree-project. He is a sci-fi and music editor at The Digital Constitutionalist law & tech blog.

Etienne holds a BSc in Law and a BSc in Sociology as well as an LLM in IP & IT law (Utrecht University). Before joining IViR, he worked at the Dutch Public Prosecution Service and at a boutique law firm specialising in music and film law.
