Daniël is a PhD candidate at the Institute for Information Law. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Law (cum laude) from the University of Amsterdam. He obtained his LLM in Law and Technology (cum laude) from Tilburg University and his MCL from the University of Cambridge. He is also pursuing a master's degree in Practical Ethics at the University of Oxford, where he focuses, among other things, on questions concerning freedom of speech and technology. Daniël works as a litigation lawyer at VANEPS Amsterdam, where he focuses on commercial and corporate litigation. Under the supervision of Joris van Hoboken, Anna van Duin, and Paddy Leerssen, his PhD research focuses on the private enforcement of freedom of speech under the DSA.
