IViR Lecture: Regulating digital gatekeepers

IViR is pleased to announce that Professor Rupprecht Podszun
will give an online lecture entitled
Regulating digital gatekeepers
on Friday 25 June 2021

Abstract:

The power of digital gatekeepers keeps troubling markets – and policy-makers. At the European level the Digital Markets Act is planned as a new, ground-breaking piece of legislation to “tame the tech titans”.

Rupprecht Podszun will explain and discuss key features of the DMA. He also analyses the act from the perspective of legal rule-setting: What does the DMA tell us about legal change?

Rupprecht Podszun is a professor for civil law, German and European competition law at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Germany, and the director of the university’s Institute for Competition Law. He is an Affiliated Research Fellow with the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, Munich, and the Vice President of Ascola, the Academic Society for Competition Law. His recent work centers on platform regulation, and he advised different institutions on the matter.
