With the memorandum, we would like to put a new copyright narrative up for discussion, both&nbsp;in the academic, and in the political sphere. The ten theses concern the world&nbsp;as is, the world as could be, and the means needed to turn this possible future&nbsp;into reality. We believe that this narrative would be a promising starting&nbsp;point for creating something that is not only highly attractive but also&nbsp;urgently needed&nbsp;\u2013:&nbsp;better&nbsp;copyright regulation by 2030.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>Professor Dr. Michael Gr\u00fcnberger<\/strong>, LL.M. (NYU) holds the Chair of Civil, Commercial and Technology Law at the University of Bayreuth. His research focuses on intellectual property law, private law in the European multi-level system (especially digitalisation and on discrimination) and legal theory. For his thesis about the rights of performing artists \u201cDas Interpretenrecht\u201d (\u201cPerformers\u2019 Rights\u201d) the Faculty of Law of the University of Cologne awarded him the first prize for outstanding scientific achievements in 2006. His habilitation \u201cPersonale Gleichheit. Der Grundsatz der Gleichbehandlung im Zivilrecht\u201d (\u201cPersonal Equality. The Principle of Non- Discrimination in Civil Law\u201d) was elected a legal book of the year by one of the most widely read German law journals \u201cJuristenZeitung\u201d (JZ) in 2014. The main focus of his current publications is on European and German copyright law. <br>Michael Gr\u00fcnberger is Director of the Institute of Copyright and Media Law in Munich.
