The winning stories will be revealed during the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpdpconferences.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CPDP 2026 conference<\/a>\u00a0in Brussels on 19-22 May.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-lightest-grey-background-color has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">The seventh shortlisted story is now live on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/digi-con.org\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/digi-con.org\/\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-ivir-red-color\">DigiCon<\/mark><\/a>.<br>It is called &#8220;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/digi-con.org\/the-semantic-corridor-notes-from-the-floor-above-the-particle-accelerator\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/digi-con.org\/the-semantic-corridor-notes-from-the-floor-above-the-particle-accelerator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-ivir-red-color\">The Semantic Corridor \u2013 Notes from the Floor Above the Particle Accelerator<\/mark><\/strong><\/a><\/em>&#8221; and was written by Caroline De Cock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em>It is set in 2039, in a Z\u00fcrich office above an old particle accelerator, where a Senior Semantic Compliance Officer translates meaning between two competing American reality engines and a Europe that solved its AI crisis by training exclusively on public domain material from the 1960s.
