Het College van Bestuur van de Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA) heeft prof. dr. Mireille van Eechoud, hoogleraar Informatierecht, per 1 januari 2025 benoemd tot decaan van de Faculteit der Rechtsgeleerdheid. De benoeming is voor een periode van vier jaar. Mireille vervult het decanaat sinds 1 januari dit jaar al op tijdelijke basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het IViR feliciteert Mireille met deze mooie stap. We kennen haar niet alleen als een brilliante wetenschapper (die we in de komende jaren zullen missen) maar ook als een heel goede bestuurder. We hebben er dus alle vertrouwen in dat de faculteit de komende jaren bij Mireille in goede handen is, en wensen haar heel veel succes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over Van Eechoud<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Mireille is sinds 1996 werkzaam bij het IViR, vanaf 2012 als hoogleraar Informatierecht. Tot september 2019 was zij opleidingsdirecteur van de master Informatierecht, en vervolgens trad ze aan als directeur van de Amsterdam Graduate School of Law. Ook was zij onder andere voorzitter van de Universitaire Onderzoekscommissie (UOC), die het College van Bestuur adviseert over onderzoeksbeleid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mireille bekleedt ook een aantal advies- en bestuursfuncties buiten het IViR. Zo is zij voorzitter van de Commissie Auteursrecht (een wettelijk adviescollege van het ministerie van Justitie en Veiligheid), bestuursvoorzitter van de Vereniging voor Auteursrecht, verkozen lid van de European Copyright Society en redactielid van Intellectuele Eigendom en Reclamerecht. Eerder was ze lid van de Adviesraad van de Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In haar onderzoek richt Mireille zich onder meer op de regulering van open data en publieke informatiebronnen uit een oogpunt van transparantie, communicatiegrondrechten en innovatie, internationaal en Europees intellectuele eigendomsrecht (met name auteurs- en databankenrecht) en internationaal privaatrechtelijke aspecten van informatierecht.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
