Do you want to research how law and enforcement of digital rules can take engage systemic actors in the digital economy? And would you like to become part of a European network of researchers studying how regulation can learn to govern transformative technologies such as AI, digital platforms, quantum computing and neurotechnology. Then the Phd project \u2018Systemic Actors and the Enforcement of Digital Rules\u2019 may be right for you.<br><strong>Sluitingsdatum: 2 november 2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/werkenbij.uva.nl\/en\/vacancies\/phd-candidate-in-access-actors-and-accountability-the-role-of-researchers-in-ai-governance-netherlands-15529\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/werkenbij.uva.nl\/en\/vacancies\/phd-candidate-in-access-actors-and-accountability-the-role-of-researchers-in-ai-governance-netherlands-15529\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>PhD Candidate in Access, Actors and Accountability: The Role of Researchers in AI Governance<\/strong><\/a><br>What is the role of researchers in the governance of AI systems and digital platforms? What legal exceptions and safeguards do researchers need to be able to play that role? And how can we organise productive interactions between researcher, policy makers, regulators, civil society and companies? Research and expertise have critical role in making sure that AI and digital technologies are safe, respectful of fundamental rights and beneficial to society, but we have yet to develop the legal and organisational frameworks to enable their work, while protecting their safety and academic freedom.
