Robert van Schaik is a Research Master student at IViR. Currently, his interests include (the economic aspects of) data protection law and intellectual property law. From September 2016 onwards, he is performing research on the relationship between patents, plant breeders' rights and innovation at the Dutch Advisory Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (AWTI). He has also participated in Clinic, assisting individuals and start-ups who have legal questions related to media and technology.
Robert commenced his studies in 2011, at both University College Utrecht and at the law faculty of Utrecht University. During his Bachelor’s phase, he gained an interest in civil and political rights at the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights, and an interest in private law generally as an exchange student at the Washington University in St. Louis, USA.
