Geert Lokhorst is a Research Master student at the Institute of Information Law since September 2016. His interests include intellectual property and data protection, with a specific interest in personal data processed by government entities. Geert started at Leiden University in 2010, where he studied political science and law & economics. He achieved his bachelors in law & economics with honours. During his master’s, Geert studied at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. Here, he followed courses in diverse subjects of intellectual property and privacy law. Alongside of his academic studies, Geert has worked as a law assistant at the intellectual property practice of law firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek and as tutor in administrative and Roman law.
