Summary:
Mass-scale digitization of audiovisual content has given rise to rights
clearance problems of mind-boggling proportions. Licenses are needed
from many tens of thousands of rights holders. To complicate matters
even further, there is a lack of normative guidelines as to the amount
of remuneration due to right holders for reutilizing their works. This
research project seeks to propose efficient mechanisms of rights
clearance, and fair and reasonable models of remuneration. |
