Curriculum Vitae
|
Prof. mr. Gerard Schuijt is
Associate Professor at the Institute for Information Law and
Professor at the University of Leiden (Press, Media and
Telecommunications Law). He received his doctorate on media
and labour conditions in journalism from the University of
Amsterdam in 1987, after which he started working at the
Institute for Information Law. He was previously employed as
the Secretary/General Secretary of the Dutch Federation of
Journalists (1970-1980), as the Director of the weekly ‘Groene
Amsterdammer’ (1983-1987), and as President of the editorial
board of Mediaforum (1993-1999). Furthermore, he is a
deputy judge at the Court of Amsterdam, Editor of
Informatierecht/AMI. He publishes on a regular basis about
topics in the field of media law.
